"No Bag Day" implementation in schools – Nara Lokesh
Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh has introduced the "No Bag Day" initiative, providing students with a break from carrying school bags every Saturday. This decision aims to focus on extracurricular activities and improve the overall educational experience. The minister also outlined plans for an integrated app for teachers and better tracking of student data to ensure no student is left behind in their educational journey.
While discussing how children carry school bags to school, Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh made a key decision to give them a break every Saturday. As part of this, he instructed officials to implement "No Bag Day" every Saturday. During a review meeting on school and intermediate education, Lokesh emphasized the need for extracurricular activities to be conducted in schools. He suggested that on Saturdays, students should be given a break from carrying school bags, and extracurricular activities should be organized.
Additionally, he instructed officials to replace several existing apps and create a single integrated application for teachers. To verify the exact number of students in schools, he directed that an automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID be linked. He asked for the integration to be completed quickly. In a meeting organized by the Director of School Education, officials provided various suggestions and feedback to the minister. Considering these suggestions, Nara Lokesh instructed officials to ensure that no student drops out of school and that steps be taken to provide education to everyone. To make communication with the public easier, he directed that the Andhra Pradesh Model of Education Blueprint be prepared. Through these important decisions, Minister Nara Lokesh expressed hope that students would benefit more, and equal opportunities for education would be provided. He also said that with everyone's coordination, these new changes would provide a bright future for school education.
