Indonesia President Prabowo Subianto made interesting remarks as the Chief Guest at the Republic Day celebrations. He mentioned that he has close ties with India and that recent tests revealed his roots are in India. On the occasion of Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu hosted a special dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday evening. The dinner was attended by Indonesia President Subianto, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Ministers. During the event, President Subianto made the gathering laugh.
"I underwent genetic analysis and DNA testing a few weeks ago, and it was determined that my DNA is Indian. Whenever I hear Indian music, I can't help but dance energetically, which many people know. This could be a part of my Indian roots," he said, which made Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Modi, and others laugh heartily.
"India and Indonesia have a rich historical legacy with an ancient, long history. Both countries share civilizational ties. Particularly, the languages of both countries originate from Sanskrit. Many Indonesian names are derived from Sanskrit. The influence of ancient Indian civilization is strongly reflected in our daily lives. This could be a part of our genetic makeup," Subianto shared his thoughts. On this occasion, Subianto also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
