Virat Kohli participating in Ranji Trophy
For the first time since 2012, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli got the opportunity to play in the Ranji Trophy. During his training session at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi, Kohli faced some serious challenges from Indian bowlers like Navdeep Saini and Siddharth Sharma, both of whom had recently lost their spots in the national team. Kohli faced five bowlers in the nets for 25 minutes, including Manish Grewal, Navdeep Saini, Rahul Gehlot, Siddharth Sharma, and Vivek Gulshan, who provided him with difficult situations. However, Kohli embraced the challenge with confidence and demonstrated his usual skill in tackling the bowlers.
Though Kohli initially struggled against the bowling of Saini and Sharma, he regained his balance and managed to hit some excellent shots, boosting his confidence. Earlier, he also faced three spinners—Harsh Tyagi (left-arm), Sumit Mathur (left-arm), and Shivam (right-arm)—for about half an hour. Although the spinners posed some challenges, Kohli used his experience to overcome them. It is worth noting that Kohli's performance in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia was disappointing.
However, the Ranji Trophy provides Kohli with a great opportunity to rediscover his form. Representing Delhi this time, Kohli is set to play with renewed motivation and is ready to perform well once again. This performance is a sign that Kohli is in good form ahead of upcoming matches. For his fans, Kohli's readiness for the Ranji Trophy after 2012 is a positive sign.
